Signs of Vitamin E deficiency
• Poor recovery from exercise
• Muscle weakness, stiffness
• Intolerance to exercise
• Poor immune response
• Lack of impulsion
If your horse or pony is suffering from any of the above symptoms you should first consult a vet.
Working a horse with a deficiency may cause more harm.
Normal daily requirements for 500kg horse is 500iu per day
The amount required increases with workload and sweat loss.
Supplementing working horses may be required as Vitamin E stability in many feeds and mineral blends can be unreliable.
Dose: 2 grams = 500iu natural vitamin E (not synthetic)
Additional vitamin E supplementation should be given on the advice of a vet or qualified person.
Storage: Store below 30’C and protect from moisture
